I’m looking for information or video tutorials concerning this effect

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jl4rwMZWATs

Now , i know that it’s all done with several layers , a 3D cam & probably null objects , But i’d like to know how to make a smooth transition. any vid tutorials abut this ?

For instance , right at 0:20 in the video or better yet , right at 0:39 in the video (from where it zooms out of the tv screen) , are they using a morphing ? how do they integrate this so well ? do i need to use the paint brush ? (sorry if these questions sound stupid but i’m still new at this)

Also , how is this continuous zoom effect done ? They’re obviously using several different cuts but how is this (almost) seamless transition done from one shot to the next ?

Well, it took them a lot of planning. To go from one to the next you have to have the foresight to make it work. As far as the shot at :39 goes, it looks like a lens distortion the pic in the t.v., optics compensation? The seamlessness is really easy, they have used picture frames where they can, so really you will have to think backwards and every square you can use, use. And as you see the pics kinda go with each other to a degree, kinda matched up for best transitions. Also, the blurriness seems to be in the pics already, with some added for depth but not too much just mostly on the window frames.
You need high rez pics and a lot of time, hope this starts you off ! Good luck!

My notes on it: (At 2:15 I noticed the matte painting is goofy, angles are off-sizes are off, rotoscoping separates the car and bkgrnd at 2:50 and parenting layers together so they move the same (could easily be a master null in there somewhere). Might not ever need a cam.

Reality? What did you make it?

ps: sorry in advance , my english is kinda rusty.

Ok , thanks for the fast response!
Yeah i know the hardest part is to first find all the correct pics.

Still , i’m having a hard time with the transitions. I tested the technic on 2 different photos but the seamlessness is not as perfect even though i’m attaching (parenting my pics)…

For instance there’s a moment (in the test i made) where the cam zooms out of from a character , then exists from the reflection of another guy’s sunglasses.

Since the reflection on the sunglasses has a different shape than the original photo , i’m having problems making a perfect match. (i’m using masks , i’m even painting , using the opacity etc…but , i guess i’m doing something the wrong way.
