Thanks. I think I was half asleep when I wrote that reply.

A little late to be adding to this, but…

!!! KEEP YOUR HEADS UP !!!

If you have Xsan, installing iTunes 7 could give you problems. I’ve seen some reports. Several stations at my office have already upgraded and we have not seen problems. We are still on QT 7.0.4, so all of the video goodies in iTunes are not active. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Your results may vary. Be careful.

Check out Isolon. I’ve been told that is works and you can edit DVCPRO HD easily, although it isn’t a FCP “approved” storage device. It is expensive. We’re considering it for next year as a back up in case Xsan goes down. Also using it to back up graphic elements and as a place to move files when upgrading old san volumes to increase lun size above 2 TB.

You could also try nesting the sequence and applying the compression filter to the nested stereo pair.

I installed here at home, but couldn’t find notes on what is changed/updated…

back off topic/on topic – I wonder if the new look of itunes will be the look of leopard.

might as well capture as DVCPRO HD as a proxy with the bmd card then recapture as 10 bit and on-line.

I think you can use lumiere hd and convert to any QT format after capture.

August 2, 2006 at 8:59 pm in reply to: Compressor in 5.1.1 is fixed

The batch problem where the “sub-jobs” weren’t dropping down happened only after the update to 5.1.

I did a job on Monday with the H.264 Lan preset and the drop down arrow was working.

When I use the ipod preset, and try to open the compressed clip, Quicktime crashes hard! The computer screen turns nasty shades of green and red.

I have other apps in house that prevent me from going up to 7.1.2 at the moment so I’m stuck at 7.0.4.

Anyone else having success with the ipod preset?

I can’t get the new ipod preset to work… I’m still on QT 7.0.4 though.

It also looks like I’m having some problems with qmaster.

Anyone who uses compressor with qmaster might be able to answer this: Has the batch monitor changed now so that it doesn’t display the distributed work going on in the qmaster jobs? If this is not the case, then it probably is my render farm broke after the updates.

Are any other applications open when experiencing this problem? Entourage caused keyboard problems with AE because we needed to update the software…
