Right. The crosshair stays there and the two squares move outside the frame. That is why it is baffling to me. The first two times I did it, in the upper portion of the frame, it worked fine. But now I am further down in the frame (not sure if that has anything to do with it), trying to apply a third effect using the same tracking technique. The squares are still moving outside the frame, but now the effect is not following the squares out, and instead is stopping when the tracking source moves out of the frame. Even though I am following that same procedure as before. Does that make sense?
The other tutorials on tracking don’t quite apply to what I’m trying to do, unfortunately.
