It’s not a case of paranoia, it is simply as case of: Can you see it? Yes? The get rid of it unless you have either permission or really deep pockets and like to pay money to those who OWN the rights — you don’t.

Most email programs have an “import Mail” function. I don’t have Outlook, but I do have Entourage and it has an Import under the File menu as well.
Try this: Open your email program. Find the Import function. In Mail, it’s under the File menu — then click on that. See if it will navigate you to the folder containing your emails. Should still be on the computer somewhere.

You may want to check that value. My book has it as 920, 270.
Since this is the first lesson in the book, I’d suggest starting over fresh. Make sure you’re familiar with the terminology. You may even want to go over a tutorial in our library by Andrew Kramer first:

For a beginner, AE can be daunting, but we’ve all been there. Don’t get discouraged.
