I really don’t use Cinematools and my FCP 5 doesn’t show it as an option to file export (only live type and sound edit). Cinema tools is installed and opens fine but no go. Hmmm…

Thanks! Yes, I meant free run. I wish there were a better work around than changing the in/out-points manually. This would be pretty time consuming to do for every new clip. But I guess the thing to do is to double check FCP auto-made clips in the EDL before the online. We used an A & B cameras, hence “free run,” and no getting around the TC breaks.

One more question, if you will. If the same project (same amount of media, same partioning across drives) was running faster on 2.2 then why does it run slower w/the upgrade?

Is it a programming thing where later versions of FCP simply require a faster computer to do the same thing? What (aside from buying a new G5) could be done to improve the situation? (The doc has over 100 hours of material that needS to be kept online for the time being).
