Yeah, as far as I know Audition is the only major audio software that doesn’t have automatic nor manual latency compensation settings, so the best you can do is to get as fast a sound card as possible. If you get the input+output latency total to below 10ms it is generally considered “no latency” or imperceptible. I haven’t used a Mac in a decade, so unfortunately I don’t know what would be a good interface for you.

You might have already seen this: https://helpx.adobe.com/audition/kb/troubleshoot-recording-playback-monitoring-audition-1.html

Based on your description I gather your could do almost the same thing for the “middle” edge as the two others, with the difference that you would control the position of the edge with a static slider value (rather than through math, which I believe would be extremely difficult) and then check if the position value of the middle line is between current start and end trim path values to determine whether it should be drawn or not. The slider approach would also make it possible to change the middle line position to a different location if you have several such “folds” along the way.

    Hi Ronald,

Is that a new system? I can see exactly three files from the last three weeks there, nothing from earlier than that. I was looking for an older file.

People are already coming here frequently for Element3D questions, so I thought it might be nice to have a dedicated forum for it. For sure much more often than Re:Vision or Trapcode questions.

  • Position values are set by moving the layer and adding a position keyframe. Opacity values by changing the opacity and adding an opacity keyframe. Fiddly as …. .

Don’t think there’s a way to trim multiple layers at once. At least I haven’t found one.

It is essentially a latency issue: time that the audio system in your computer adds between signal input and recording. The solution might be as simple as using a different system. Audio input streams should run with ASIO, which you get with most sound cards. There’s a software “ASIO”called “ASIO4All” which might help if you don’t have anything but the built-in sound card. You want something that minimizes the delay. At around 10 ms it starts to become unnoticeable. There are some videos on “How to fix latency in Audition”, haven’t looked at any, but you should find a more in-depth answer to this in one of those.

  • If you have the exact same music as what is mixed with the dialogue, you can reverse phase, match the level and zero out the music that way. I haven’t matched soundtrack timings in Audition. I guess you can do it manually, not sure if there’s a way to do it automatically. In Premiere you can align with the built-in sync tracks function or with PluralEyes (commercial plugin), not sure if that is sample accurate, since audio for video doesn’t really need to be, frame accurate is enough.

  • How are the graph values stored and how are the graphs generated?

As an alternate solution you can use a lightmap on a (hidden) duplicate layer of the Element 3D sphere as the source for Optical Flares. The lightmap is a texture that has white dots where you want light sources and otherwise black. With recent AE versions you can use the result directly or in earlier version you need to precompose with a linked camera. Use “Luminance” as source type in Optical flares and select the lighmap E3D layer. No expressions required with this method.
