    Hi Stefan,

Hey that’s great, freelance pianist on the Silja-line! Where do you reside nowadays? My wife’s a jazz singer, always on the lookout for good pianists. 🙂

As Tero pointed out, you can’t slow down time-lapse footage to look normal (well, you could, but you’d have to take one frame and reanimate everything that moves from scratch, which would be very challenging and time consuming. It’s really the last method I’d use and only when there aren’t any other options). So you’ll definitely need footage that is normal speed to begin with.

I’m pretty fully booked at the moment, but you can find my contact information here if it turns out you need help with the project. Drop me a line if you want to and we can see if we make schedules meet:

That’s my graphic design website so doesn’t really have any motion imaging samples, so here’s a link to a product presentation animation I made recently:

November 3, 2015 at 3:09 pm in reply to: How do I get this texture

Do you mean the yellow extrusion/bevel on the lettering? Or the texture?

Lettering: Duplicate your text layer, fill and stroke it with yellow and offset to down and right. Change the stroke of the top copy to same color as the background and fill to light yellow.

Texture: Easier to do with Photoshop (if you have and know the program). You basically need the texture that ONLY has those small “grunge” details and is otherwise transparent. Then you can put it atop the image (either in Illustrator or in Photoshop) and lower opacity some.

I would try and approach it with a mask instead of a shape, but it will require a deeper knowledge of scripting than I currently have. Or more spare time than I currently have 🙂

Yes, Particular could be used for this. There are basics tutorials on how to use Particular on the Red Giant website.

But you don’t really need Particular for this, you can do it with CC Particle Systems which is inculded with AE.

November 3, 2015 at 2:13 pm in reply to: Outlining a shape layer stroke?

You can add another stroke to the Contents of the shape, slightly thicker than the one you already have there. If you don’t have a fill, the new stroke will show on both sides or the original stroke.

Can’t do Z axis with Repeater, have to duplicate the layer multiple times and parent or use expressions to make it follow the original. Or use Trapcode Echospace.

November 3, 2015 at 2:05 pm in reply to: Wiggle expression . 1 time in 1second?

It’s not the first part of the expression that gives you the trouble, you are giving the wiggle a new random number for every frame with the second part of the expression.

The correct wiggle expression in this case would be

    wiggle (1,2)

With the value of 2 the wiggle expression itself will vary the results between -2 and 2 in relation to current value.

Tracking means following the motion in order to either match the motion or to remove (stabilize) or smooth out the motion. When the camera is moving or shaking, you need to do one or the other (stabilize or make the other footage follow the same motion) to composite other footage with it.

I don’t use FCP, but googling for it told me you can.
