If you are in Windows, you can use the Charmap utility to find any character in any typeface. I often use that to find the copyright or bullet character.

Mac has something similar (or at least it did 15 years ago when I last used one.)

  • I would ask for the RGB version of the logo(s).

Sounds like a largely manual task, especially getting just the footage without the effects and animations.

rd: Comp Setter and rd: Scooter scripts might help you, the former in extending each comp by 2-4 seconds, the latter in moving the layer content forward 1-2 seconds for the beginning lead-in.

Then disable any effects and animations and render out each in a lossless format.

Someone may have a better idea.

  • I know what you mean. Blender is so powerful today, it makes me question the need for any commercial 3D programs — although I am still considering C4D.

I haven’t been able to use Stardust for any production purpose as yet. Feels like the program is in some sort of public beta stage. E-mail support is very fast, but that alone doesn’t resolve the need for better documentation. I guess I’ll return to it when the user guide is up to snuff.

Since track mattes would be between every second layer, you can just cut the delay amount in half, as your index will change by two between each text layer.

  • On the plus side, Stardust customer support is very responsive. Talked to them plenty this past week. There’s light at the end of the tunnel: They are working on node-specific sample files that (as I understood it) are going to be linked to directly from the manual. So (hopefully soon) it should be easier to learn what the logic behind each node is.

  • Doesn’t sound too good. If that were happening to me, I would reinstall the program.

    1) Precomp the animation and use it as a track matte for your (circular) gradient.

    2) Puppet tool is the easiest solution for this that I can think of. It does require some planning and testing as to what the best rest pose is, where to put the puppet pins and how to connect them (parented nulls are good, except that getting the layer position of the nulls for the puppet pins can be a pain).

  • I use Blender plenty, but I haven’t used the combination of Blender export to Stardust import more than a couple of times. I would expect it to work if the model was exported with UVs from Blender.

Yes, it does. It goes in the position property.

In recent versions you may need to use “sourceRectAtTime(time, false)”, to make sure the content is being measured rather than the text box — although those should be the defaults.
