Like Dave said, it’s not a Plexus-related problem, it happens with any bitmap-based imaging application. It’s got more to do with display technology than the software.

Yes, duplicate your layer and set the top one to luminosity blend mode.

Then you can do noise reduction on the bottom layer, or even surface blur it or something similar, and the top layer will maintain the luminosity details.

You can copy and paste paths between Illustrator and Photoshop.

If you look out the window, you’ll notice that the trees are upside down. Which reveals that the interior of the house has been built upside down. So the person is actually on the floor in a room that is “upside down” then the camera (or footage) has been rotated around to look like he is in the ceiling.

In this case the background doesn’t necessary need to be green, but it has to be a flat color you can key. If not a flat color background, you will have to rotoscope the person to cut them out of the background. If you are shooting the footage, a green screen or a blue screen would be the best option.

Of the color correction tools that come installed with After Effects, Synthetic Aperture Color Finesse 3 has the most control. You Can do an HSL highlight and shadow saturation correction, with adjustable shadow/midtone/highlight ranges.

  • Look for a similar-looking filigree that is vector-based, not bitmapped. Then you can copy and paste the individual parts from Illustrator to After Effects solid layer as masks.

A line that is a pixel wide (or less) and exactly horizontal or vertical has a great chance of flickering. If the line has to stay exactly vertical, try doubling the size of the comp, render it out and then re-size for final output. It should at least decrease the flickering.

The menu commands seem to work better — or at least in a more logical fashion — than the shapes/paths pull-down menus. Try selecting both layers, the selecting Layer>Combine Shapes>Subtract Front Shape

(Actual menu names may be different, I have my Photoshop language set to Finnish)

If you have Illustrator, cutting out shapes from other shapes is a task more suited to illustrator, and I would personally do it there instead.
