  • My first thought would be to use Particular, tracking the corners of the carpet by hand for a solid mask, then use that masked solid as a layer emitter.

Or use a 3D null to control the emitter position and manually track it to the motion of the carpet.

  • I would have never realized it wasn’t real had you not pointed it out.

  • What happens if you increase the size of the solid?

…or is that what you already did and now the masks are still going over two edges?

PDF text originating in Photoshop becomes “soft” when it gets rasterized. This happens if you change the blending mode from normal to something else or apply an effect, or use faux bold or faux ital, text warp, etc. So, make sure you don’t do anything like that which has to be rasterized in PDF rather than the PDF using the font as-is.

You can make a crisp PDF circle in Photoshop by making it a shape layer rather than a filled selection.

There may be some additional PDF setting you have to select to retain vector information for shape layers, I don’t recall off the top of my head.

Red and blue (and green) channels are already separate. You can select one in the channels palette and apply an effect to just that one channel.

    Something along the lines of

    1) Add Channel Combiner effect, set it from Lightness to Hue

    2) Add Hue/Saturation effect, pump up saturation, then adjust hue for suitable result

I see nothing wrong with the code and it works just fine here.

The default settings of 1.0 and 60% and pretty extreme for most cases. Try starting with 0.1 and 90% and tweak it from there.

Ok, that certainly sounds like it is Plexus-related. Another thought — this may or may not have anything to do with the issue at hand — I had rendering glitches with Plexus on my workstation until I turned on GPU rendering. You can try turning that setting on of off (in Plexus settings) and see if it makes any difference.

  • Parenting messes up the coordinate transformation, and it can get complex. I often end up using “value +” (or a specific value) to change the position. You can get it to work with expressions as well, but I don’t personally find figuring out the right combination of fromComp/toComp/fromWorld/toWorld very easy with a more complex setup, so I just take the easier way.
