  • The Intensity Pro PCIe card has Component Video Inputs and Outputs. The ouputs simply pass-through the input when capturing.

You will probably have to install Desktop Video as well. Grab it from here: https://www.blackmagic-design.com/support/

Just choose any DeckLink product and skip the register page by selecting “download now”.

You will need to install Desktop Video to have the Blackmagic uncompressed 10-bit codec installed on your machine. Grab the latest from here: https://www.blackmagic-design.com/support/ (just select any DeckLink product and skip the register product page)

Once installed, you should now have an assortment of Blackmagic sequence and export settings in FCP7. Export your sequence using the “Blackmagic HDTV 1080p 23.98 – 10-bit” setting which is the native HyperDeck uncompressed 4:2:2 10-bit QuickTime format.

I don’t believe there’s a way to do this with the DVE transition.

Here’s two options that you could go for:

    1. If you’re happy with the Lower Third simply fading in, chuck it in a Media Player and set the Downstream Key 1 to the repsective Media Player and Media Player Key. You can change the rate that the DSK comes in, then hit On Air in the DSK controls when you want the lower third to fade in.

    2. If you want the Lower Third to “push in” then “push out” for example, you will have to set it up in Photoshop as an Animation. Animations are really quick n easy to setup in PS with keyframes. Once set up as you wish, export it as a TGA sequence and then import the TGAs into a Clip Pool on the ATEM 1 M/E. A pool can have a maximum of 180 frames, which should be sufficient for quick lower thirds. 0.5 seconds for the push in, 5 seconds on display, then 0.5 seconds for the push out (slightly more if you’re working in 50i @ 25fps). It is important that the first and last frames are black/null.

Now, set the DSK to Fill Media Player 1 and Key as Media Player 1 Key and in the DSK controls, set it to On Air. Since the first frame of the sequence is empty, nothing will be dispalyed.

Now that you’ve “primed” the lower third, simply hit the Play button on the Media Player control when you want the sequence to appear On Air. It will appear exactly as you set the animation in Photoshop.

    Justin.

You can use Blackmagic Disk Speed Test app to give you a rough idea if your hard drive can handle uncompressed.

There are few benefits of recording uncompressed over ProRes 422 for example, but I’d rather not get into a debate on that.

ProRes will be sufficient for 90% of users.

Download & install Final Cut Pro X trial: https://www.apple.com/finalcutpro/trial/

Download & install ProApps QuickTime codecs: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1396

Do not worry about the FCPX trial running out, it is just needed to install the codecs that will continue to be available after it runs out or you delete FCPX trial.

You are getting dropped frames because you most likely do not have an SSD in your iMac and single 7200rpm SATA drives cannot capture uncompressed HD video.

  • External monitoring via third party output cards is only available in Vegas Pro.

    Setting in 360: 720p = HD 720 p 59.94 in Media Express.

    Setting in 360: 1080i = HD 1080 i 59.94 in Media Express.

    Intensity Shuttle USB 3.0 can’t do 1080 p 59.94.

Desktop Video 8.0+ is only supported on Windows 7 64-bit.

Grab Intensity 3.9.4 from here: https://www.blackmagic-design.com/media/11190/Intensity_Windows_3.9.4.zip

which was the latest driver package and Media Express for Windows XP and Windows 7 32-bit.

I can’t see any issues with your system. Should be compatible.

However, you cannot capture uncompressed HD footage to a single, mechanical hard drive.

Instead, you’d probably want to capture in Motion JPEG, which has a variable bit rate of ~70-150 mbits/s (non-selectable). 1 minute will equate to 1 GB on average. This can be selected in the included Media Express applitcation so nothing else is required.
