Also, be sure to deinterlace your video upon export as computers are not field dominant. If you are using Sorenson Squeeze, then often the best bang for your buck is going to be to encode your files with one of the On2VP6 flash presents.

    Same here on both counts.

I should update my signature because it still has me as a promo guy for KLTV… Did you ever go to any of the Promo Manager conferences in Atlanta? If so maybe we met. I don’t remember.

And I left about a year after the Liberty Corp. buyout. I’ve been working agency work for about 2 years now. I absolutely love it because, yes indeed, there is much more of a variety and we get to work with much better budgets. And that means cooler toys and higher production value. Here’s our link…

By the way, do you happen to know if in switching from the old mac to the new one if I will need to upgrade my SCSI controller.

    It’s nice to meet you.

I was wondering.. I use to work at KLTV 7 in Tyler but now do agency work. I believe KLTV is your sister station. Is that correct?

Thanks for you quick response. Since I’ll be using the same two RAIDS I should have no problems with losing links to the media I suppose. As long as all folder names and locations are identical between the two systems my Avid software should not know the difference, correct? Thanks again Michael.

  • A very cool way to shift keyframes in time and maintain their proportionality to relative to one another is to highlight all the keyframes you want to move in time. Then with all the keyframes highlighted, wether you want to move them forward or backward in time, grab the first or last keyframe, hold the alt key and drag. This maintains the relative time between keyframes proportionally and allows you to lengthen/shorten your timing without losing your accuracy.

unfortunately this is not the directory to find them in. Is this the default location Jon? I think I found them in another location. Hard Drive/Users/Shared/Adrenaline/Avid Users/my name. Does this sound right? Another editor, before my time here, set up this infrastructure and this may not be the default location. Regardless, there are two files that I think might by the right ones with the aforementioned directory. They end with the .ave and .avs file extensions. Are these the files to take with me? What do you think Jon? Thank you. -Justin

If you are using the Professional version of AE then the install disk has a third party program called “Color Finesse.” It is also available as a stand alone application. This free bundled program has great scopes… waveform, vector…, histogram, and RGB parade. You can use this within AE to tame down those colors. Also, are you bringing this animation into a nonlinear editor? If so, many, or at least Avid Media Composer and Final Cut Pro, have safe color limiters that can further aid in your not breaking the almighty law of color safety. -Justin

  • Also, by using a range selector on your text, along with the above mentioned technique, you can take it a step further approximate the wiggling to particular letter and not the entire word. -J

  • Yes the timewarp effect is the best. As far as your effect controls… add the desired effect to a clip, open the “effect editor” and you can keyframe all attributes.
