Cool. So, here’s my next dumb question: Would I do this with the Track Matte function? As far as I know, the Track Matte only uses the layer directly above. Can I apply mattes from several layers onto the one layer?
It is 29.97 footage to be conformed to 23.97, and played in a 23.97 frame timeline to achieve a slo-motion effect. The footage looks great, but I lose the end of the shot.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, are you refering to an effect in AE called “built”? I understand the ffx file that you generously posted is a favorite, but for what effect?
