I need to create a ripple/liquid effect on skin to suggest the effects of terminal velocity on a face, similar to this:

I was thinking of using the liquid or ripple effect. Does anyone have any other suggestions for effects or plug-ins to achieve this?

    Thanks!!

You can use Free Form – even better FreeForm Pro if you have the funds.
You will need to create a displacement map for the face and animate the ripple on the cheeks by animating the displacement. You can also use the 3d distortion in FreeForm (Pro) to add to that displacement.
Here’s a link to a tutorial using FreeForm:

Thanks. I’ll give displacement maps a shot.
