I recently converted 29.97 footage to 23.97 in Cinema Tools 2.0. Every thing worked well except for the fact that the shot stayed the same duration instead of expanding, therefore losing the content at the end of the shot.

How do I do a conform without hacking off the end of my shot?

Silly question, but is this acutally film w/pulldown, or 24p footage? or are you trying to do a film-look to regular interlaced footage(which you should not use Cinema Tools for).

It is 29.97 footage to be conformed to 23.97, and played in a 23.97 frame timeline to achieve a slo-motion effect. The footage looks great, but I lose the end of the shot.

Cinema Tools is only for footage shot in 24p, 24p Advanced or Film transfered with 3:2 pulldown. It is not for converting normal 29.97 footage into progressive. If I am understanding what you are trying to do correctly, you are using the wrong tool.

If you are trying to use 29.97 footage that is not progressive in a 23.97 progressive timeline, you can use this plug in to conform it.

    or use After Effects.

My apologies if I am misunderstanding what you are trying to do.

You are incorrect. Many people use Cinema Tools to slow-mo shots from 29.97 to 23.98. Also in some cases, like PAL 24@25 workflows the conform function is essential. This would indeed be a problem if it is clipping off the end of the shot.

Problem solved. All I had to do was reconnect the media. DUH. The results are great, though.
