  • Erik – It’s a little hard to tell if you are being tongue in cheek, sarcastic or whatever.

Tom is one of the most helpful voices on this forum and the official Adobe forum. Hundreds have benefited from his insight – especially myself (despite the fact that his avatar looks like David Hasselhoff).

I also have no desire to build a system from scratch – I’m too busy working! I need something ready to rock and roll so the original post is helpful.

My point is the dude is legit so chill out a little!

  • Erik – you are the man! This is a very elegant solution and am glad you pointed it out. Timeline editors rejoice!

“Scabbing” is not an editorial term that I am aware of. I meant scrubbing. But scabbing sounds cool. Stung by Apple autocorrect again!

Just to clarify, monitoring was definitely very flakey in 5.5 with my setup but at least it was NOT latent.

I would also add that so far scabbing with 6.0 is vastly improved with 5d DSLR footage – dare I say “snappy” which is pretty much revolutionary though I’m still not sure if I wan’t to grade h264 – but it’s nice to have the option.

While I’m at it I would also like to thank the Adobe gods for a making audio scrub a keyboard short cut which was just down right emabarassing not to have earlier.

    Thanks for the reply Jeff,

I know it’s off because I’ve been using the same BM card with FCP for years.

Also, there is no latency issue with 5.5.

Thanks for posting your experience – I literally feel sick to my stomach now.

Still on FCP legacy – testing CS5.5 – loving what I’m hearing about CS6.

Anyway, let us know how you fare with MC6.

  • Okay, just figured out that it was half res, just needed to toggle the video quality button.

  • Thanks for the replies…

I tried the AMA way and it still came up with errors.

It was then that I found out that one must install the Avid MXF plugin and then install the P2 plugin.

    Total Avid newbie here!

Now that I have the P2 files in I can see something odd/wrong with the output image from the Black Magic Intensity card. It looks as though it is being output at half resolution : (

    Weird!

Wonderful! Thanks Jeremy. But what happens when you insert or add footage?

This is huge! Dave, are you saying that you don’t even need Toast to burn? Everything can be done in Encore?
