Sorry, I can’t get the Stroke to appear when I do effect > generate > stroke. Could you give me a bit more step by step? Thanks!

Just found out that this portion of the project got canned, but I’m still curious as to how to best do it. It would have been of a golf ball rolling into a hole (in etching style), and then I would put that on top of parchment paper jpeg in AE. So I would not want any “background” to look etched.

Yeah that is where I’m worried it might look weird, because in one scene I need to have a ball rolling into a hole. I’m concerned about it not reading as “rolling” if the texture it just overlaid, if that makes sense?

    That works! Thank you! 🙂

I’d still like to understand the keyframe velocity panel as well if anyone could explain.

Doesn’t seem to work for position keyframes. It shows up in the graph editor, but I can’t use bezier handles. Maybe it handles temporal and spatial properties differently?

Is there a way to do this with a raster layer mask on top as well? I need to cut out as much as I can of an image of a woman with a vector mask, but I need to cut out her hair using the channels technique. Is there a way to combine these?
I don’t understand when it gets to the paste onto a new layer and use the Smudge tool part. I can’t seem to make it work. Is it supposed to smudge the pen layer, or the original?

    Hi!

I’m doing something similar, but I want the write-on effect not to start immediately. Here’s a screen shot showing the diagonal line where the pencil comes onto the screen, but I want it to only start writing on where it is going in a circle. If I shorten the Write On adjustment layer, the diagonal line still pops on once the playhead gets to that layer. Is there an easy way to fix this?
