I want to not have to render twice just to get the BITC. Seems like a subtitle file (if it can be generated out of AE when I render) would do the trick.

I am actually just sending HQ files for approval… but maybe an Adobe Media Encoder watch folder with a setting to burn in timecode could do the trick. That way I would have an HQ file AND a compressed version with timecode because yes ideally I would be sending smaller files for approval.

I don’t know anything about subtitle tracks, or getting Adobe Media Encoder to add TC.

It could also be HandyCam, really any 3rd party camera rig plugin will do the trick. You can also just parent your camera to various nulls, it’s not as bad as it sounds to build your own camera rig.

You would probably want to do the fractal noise reveal on the image and apply the dot grid after that, so the animation of the dots popping in and out feels natural to the grid and not like its just revealing itself with a fractal noise matte.

also – whoever made that clip just punched their info into a stock template that they bought online somewhere. That might be your best solution. Please don’t animate the dots by hand lol.
