Seeking Advice on Advanced Camera Movement
Hi – in the following video I imagine that the designer has created the various sub-comps relative to the audio narration. I then imagine that a poster style main comp has been generated by assembling all of the sub-comps together on one 2d plane. What I am wondering is what type of plugin has been used to control the camera movement on this main comp….surely if this is being done manually there is (A) an awful lot of work to get the camera transitions and easing so slick and (B) an awful lot of keyframes to tweak if the client decides they want something changed after the first draft. Does anyone have any idea as to what type of plugin or scripting has been used to achieve this type of camera style ?

I’m wondering if there could be Video Copilot’s “Sure Target” behind this.
But then I’m thiking it might not be all that much work either. Obviously one does not make a 3 minute video in a day so there’s time to polish the moves.
Parent the camera to Null.. and move it to the centre of each new Layer, rotating the null for interesting angles.
A bit of Adjustments in the Graph Editor obviously, but doesn’t seem too bad to me..
The Inertial Bounce Woble on the rotation is a bit excessive, but adding those expressions makes it more organic too. -

It could also be HandyCam, really any 3rd party camera rig plugin will do the trick. You can also just parent your camera to various nulls, it’s not as bad as it sounds to build your own camera rig.
