don’t recall what i called it mate.
i just right clicked on the project in the project window and did relink and it managed to relink some of it but that is the files it linked to, the event is still vanished.
This is frigging insane. Have you ever experienced this? I know you’ve done a lot with FCP X but i’m sat here, having now transferred over to this thing, not sure if I can trust it to even have what I did still there each time i open it 🙂
Huge bugger!!!!!!

ha, nice try but no 🙂
I want my +/-3db back on one click. I had 7 to 0 as +3, +1, -1, -3db. Used it a lot.
And again, no with the jump forward 1 second. I want Shift + >. I used the one second jump so often and for many more reasons than actually marking time. It is so much easier and quicker than + 1 dot enter.
So though I know of both of these, they are workarounds, rather than things that were there and really should still be there. I get that some things have had to change because they do things a bit differently, but things like these – there is no logical reason they are not there other than omission, be that accidental or deliberate.

I do have a list. I’m generally rubbish at feedback but will try and get round to it at some point once i’ve used it more and discovered other things too.
I am accepting that over the past 18 months they have added a lot of stuff including little things. In fact I wouldn’t be using it if they hadn’t as what is now there is usable whereas when i first tried it at launch it was horrible to me. So much like we waited until FCP7 before the default for adding text shadow was 2 I guess there is just a wait ahead for these things to be resolved 🙂
Still, +/-3db and jump forward 1 second are right going to wind me up until they are put back in 🙂 I use both of those very very frequently.

Cheers Steve, and Jeremy before. I am working my way through the MacPro training, so not diving in completely blinkered 🙂 But sometimes I forget the proper names for things I do (self taught and a little dizzy at times) so googling doesn’t quite through up the goods, thus at that point i post in here as it is my forum of choice (and terribly helpful). Which is why I didn’t use the proper name for this type of edit in my title.
And yep, venting is more for my benefit than others, but look at Tom’s responses to vents… such a much more pleasant man than Bill, and I have the utmost respect for him because of it.
Anyway, thanks all will try this out later.

20 months on, still racking up those thumbs down Bill.
Ever stopped to wonder why?

Cheers J, will try it tomorrow, sounds like what I am after.

Yes dear. That’s it. Bit complicated, like a two button mouse. All too much for me.
Alternatively it could simply be that one has preferences. That perhaps one prefers to turn things off when one wants to rather than have it turn off in a one-size fits all automated way, seeing as one size never fits all… at least not snugly, and snug is good.
Perhaps I like to choose how to use my equipment. Perhaps I have a preference as to when I would like to have a screen saver on or when I would like to turn the monitor off. Much in the same way as perhaps I would have a preference about when I save a project I am working on.
Of course I appreciate that Apple doesn’t do other people’s preferences, but that’s fine and dandy isn’t it dear, because other companies do. One has a choice of buying a monitor with an on/off button (which I did) and one has a choice to use software that enables you to save it when you want (see above parenthesis).

I didn’t know it didn’t have an on/off button when i bought it. It was an Apple monitor. They have on/off buttons. I mean, obviously, so you can turn them on and off. So it didn’t even cross my mind. Still, it’s always a joy heading into the hustle and bustle of Central London so obviously I was uber happy lugging it back in to the shop for a refund the next day… not that I wanted to, of course, because everything Apple does is genius and right and uber… but the dust mites complained about having absolutely no period of proper darkness, so what ya gonna do?

Sorry, i’m confused. I thought Adobe made products that enable someone to make something, though obviously in an antiquated, non-inspirational and unsexy manner, whereas Apple made products that did it all for you…. ‘you crazy creative you!!!’… which is like, well cool.
Thus this is obviously an Apple product.
I mean it’s like the 24″ LED monitor they replaced the beautiful 23″ monitors with. You know, the one without an off button, because let’s face it, on/off buttons are complicated and confusing so let Apple decide how and when you can turn it off because life is better when you don’t have to think about turning things off… like the lights in your house, or your car engine when you’re sat in it inside the garage… no, being trained to not think about turning things off is good, we have a surplus of resources on the planet and if we don’t start using them all, where will be put all the iPad mini-maxi-mocha-decaf-latte 9s?
Plus my cat really liked having the soft glow of the screen all night whilst the mac was rendering stuff and there was no off button… God Apple are clever aren’t they?
Yes.
So again, an editing package that does everything for you so all you have to do is hit ‘send to youtube’ and spend the rest of the time on your favourite forum basking in the glow of your own brilliance… obviously, it’s Apple.
Anyway, when was this out? And is it Final Cut Pro 11 or Final Cut Pro XI and if the later is it called Final Cut Pro Ex Eye? Don’t want to pronounce it wrong or all the cool kids might laugh at me and being a part of the in-crowd is very important to me.
*swoon* I love Apple.
