what search terms did you use? I’ve tried ‘burning letters’ and ‘fiery’ and come up with zilch.

    Another suggestion is this book:
CINEMA 4D : The Artist’s Project Sourcebook (Digital Media Academy Series) by Anne Powers.

    It’s really helped me.

    Good heavens, no!

I’ve just found it helpful for beginners to go to c4dcafe and do their tutorials. I find that most of the questions on here are more advanced. I base this last statement on the fact that many of the things discussed on here are over my head. YMMV.

It’s a big internet and I’m glad there are several places to learn about C4d.

I wouldn’t call you a loser if you used any NLE that made you money. But I think you’re wise to be concerned about the future of the Pinnacle Liquid editing systems. I can’t really think of a reason Avid would continue to let Pinnacle have a competing form of NLEs to Avid’s main product base.

The Avid DS Nitris will do those layers soooo easy. But if the budget doesn’t allow for one then I recommend that you do your compositing in After Effects.

I appreciate your help. I had tried different files, opened old projects, made new projects, all the work-arounds I could think of. Thanks for the tip on getting the serial number to work – yes it’s registered so that’s what I’ll do – tomorrow… I’m home from work now.

well, we tried trashing the prefs and it didn’t help. So now I’ve uninstalled and I’m trying to reinstall and it’s telling me my serial number isn’t valid (I’m typing it just as it is on the sticker on the back of the CD.)
This is AE 6 by the way, failed to mention that before.

Who/what/where do I go to resolve the serial number issue?

I’ve restarted twice. I’m on XP. I’ve opened an old project and I get the same problem. I am going to trash the user prefs next – thanks for that suggestion especially, because I didn’t know to try it – then reinstall is the next step if trashing the user prefs doesn’t work.

  • Thanks to you both – will try both ideas out.
