Yep. That’s what I would do. Apply the Logc lut and grade before or after lut node as desired.

Rohit, correct me if I’m wrong but resolve v9 will support a file system project format as well, right?

Don’t think so. All the 3d dcps I’ve seen or done have been discreet stereoscopic pairs muxed together. I’ve never heard of anyone using or accepting a S-x-S dcp.

Get the 580. A single 580 will out perform two q4000s!

You could probably skip the redcine 5k relink step. Just take in fcp XML in resolve. Uncheck match file extension, and point it to your r3d media. You could also try bringing your media into the media pool before loading the XML.

They showed a prototype at NAB. It wouldn’t work with you existing p2 media though, requires new faster micro p2 media.

Where are you bring the XML from? Premier? If so, uncheck the import sizing information box.

The gt120 doesn’t factor in at all. The slowest common denominator only applies to processing.

  • Two things. Make sure you’re running the latest version of the nvidia driver. And try running resolve 8.2.1.

Generally speaking using larger than 2k images requires all the GPUs to have 2GB+ of RAM. So that could be the cause of your problem, how ever it’s worth checking bother software updates first to male sure. If you do need to upgrade the GPU, even a single 580/3gb card will give you similar performance to what you’ve been seeing,

Last thing is that it seems from your config, it would behoove you to move the red rocket into a slot inside of your Mac pro. It seems like you didn’t list all the cards in your computer, but if you have a slot available that’s where I would put it.

Google for the gpusniffer hack. It’s pretty easy. And in cs6 at least, you do not need the gpu connected.
