Was hoping someone with first hand experience on that hard ware would chime in. From the specs it looks like it would work, but I’ve never used it, so can’t be sure.

That’s not grain, it’s noise. Grain is what you get when you shoot of film. As far as noise reduction, there are a few paid plugins which do a bad to good job, depending on the source material. However all of them will make your footage look a little bit softer. That’s the trade off. I’d check out neat video. Seems to be the best for fcp.

There is a blu ray player for Mac.

There is also the new version of VLC which has some bluray support as well.
As to encore, it’s not a good solution for anything but one off discs. If you want to make a fully compatible mass produced disc, you need a good author with real bd authoring software (scenarist, Bluprint or maybe do studio). None of the prosumer type solutions are usable in the way that DVD studio pro was before.

I think the windows config guide makes it very clear they expect a quadro 600 or 4000 for the GUI.

If you can get it to work, I’d say 560 for GUI and 580 for gpu.
But I don’t bother with hackintosh. IMO either run a well configured windows sys or a well configured Mac, but trying to Frankenstein it will only lead to frustration.
In my experience with config guide speced win7 systems, they perform as well if not better than Mac. Key is having a proper config, there are lots of factors including a need for a quadro for GUI and a good ram/bus & pci optimization.

The NR with a qualifier actually does a passable job in a pinch. You could also try it with the lume/chroma separation technique and see how that plays.
