Just change the codec in your capture settings in The audio/video setting menu.

I’ve found performance is actually far better using the OpenCL mercury engine on the 650M. Additionally I assume you’ve restarted the system since having this black iimage display issue?

If you can export an edl generally someone working in a dedicated grading app (like resolve, baselight, or scratch… Even speed grade) can reconstitute the edit using an edl and the original r3d files. That would be best for quality and latitude.

A dpx sequence would work, though without the latitude and versatility of an r3d conform. Unfortunately Vegas can’t export an fcp7 XML or an AAF of your cut, which would make for a far easier round trip.

The teranex is nowhere near as good as the alchemist. It does not use motion compensation in its frame rate conversion. Different league of product.

I would think the AE step is messing you up. But you can’t trust a computer monitor to correctly display your image. Best to take your DCP to a theatre properly setup for DCP and check it projected.

As far as adding the grain, you’d probably be far better off just doing it all in Resolve and exporting the TIFF sequence with your grain already in the image.
