Decklink for thunderbolt is called the ultrastudio and is already out. There is also the mini-monitor which works with Resolve.
RedRockets work inside of a thunderbolt to PCi enclosure. But you’re limited by the thunderbolt speed. For RedRocket legacy it’s not such an issue, but the RedRocket-X will be limited by this.

Why not just grade off the prores? Unless there was a grade applied you’re likely not missing much vs the mxfs.

A little bit tricky.., one way I think you could pull this off is to add a white image as an “add matte”. Make your qualification on your actual image. Then add the white “add matte” into your node tree, apply the qualification key to it (from the node you did your HSL on). Fed that to a node getting an image from the “white matte” then drop the gain to 0 on that node. So that your qualification is now creating a silhouette onto the white image. Feed that image out, and render to file. And you’ve got an alpha matte clip.
Now, if you can actually follow that instruction, you’re a more clever man than I.
You could also try just doing your selection then cranking the gain, gamma and lift ALL THE WAY UP, then do an outside node and cranks all three ALL THE WAY DOWN. So you just end up with a black and white matte image. I’m less confident in this method though.

It likely would work, but you’d be far better off with fewer GPUs and more GPU RAM.

I’m quite sure a dongle would cost significantly less than anyone would be willing to charge for the rendering of a feature. I’m guessing you shot on RED?

You’re using an ATI card. Upgrade to 10.8 or switch to an nvidia card.

The reason they did this in the curves is because it’s an issue for panel users as well.

Perhaps it would be useful and illustrative if you tried the same shot in the various different applications keyers, and showed us some examples where one key was significantly better or worse.
I did this myself not long ago, and found that while in some cases resolve or base light or luster gave me marginally better results, ultimately when using the same source the results were remarkably similar.
Hard to key shots were hard to key everywhere, and easy to key shots were easy to key.
I’d love to see what material you’re finding so difficult in resolve that is simple in mistika.

Well if you apply an s-curve to make a log image look more like video… one would imagine a reverse s-curve would have the opposite effect.
I personally would just grade it. LGG works quite well on a video source.
