  • Why are ou moving the files within your database? How are you consolidating/transcoding files in mc?

You are correct about the reason some clips aren’t showing up. I think you might need to add the avid directories into your media pool.

Also, I don’t think you benefit from re organizing the files in your MXF folder. I’d try again without doing that.

We’re you able to check that the transcoded media was online before AAF export?

  • Yes! This should be fixed in v9. At least that’s what I was told.

Nope, not there. You can set rec run rolling. And it has ext rec trigger support.

This question should be in the Davinci Resolve LITE forum.

If you’re comparing 4:2:2 signals from component vs hd-sdi, it should be the same. Assuming your signal path is clean all the way through. D-A on the output side, cables, and then A-D on the input side. HD-SDI is a YUV 4:2:2 signal. so you should be ok with analog component monitoring. Personally prefer a digital path as I think it’s easier to tell if something is wrong, analog is more forgiving 🙂

  • The 52% number is new sales. As in not including upgrades and cross grades. So fcpx constitutes half of all full sales in a market where most people are upgrading or cross grading to avid or adobe.

The full license sale is a small sub sample of all sales figures. And sales doesn’t mean usage.

Or at least that’s what I’ve inferred.

Look into particles, blurs and composite modes.

Pretty sure the new iMacs can’t run snow leopard. You can run fcp just fine in lion. I don’t really use intensity, so someone else will have to fill you in on that one.

There is no adapter right now. There are a bunch of PCIe – Thunderbolt chassies, that my work. But it will probably be way cheaper to get a intensity or even ultrastudio 3d.

I have to say. Having just stepped in to the LITE forum, this dividing line is making a lot of sense. It’s not so much a division between people who own the app or are experts or not. But rather between those who respect and understand the configuration requirements, and take resolve seriously as a professional application. And those that just think it should work on their machine, without regard to configuration or what a color correction application is meant to be used for.

In other words, supported uses vs. unsupported uses.

I look forward to less off-the-wall configuration questions and more discussion of techniques and technologies.
