Great. I transcoded the r3d in RedCine to ProRes422. I would’ve done it in FCPX, but I wasn’t committed to using it yet. So, from FCPX, export the project to Red Cine, then reconnect to the r3d and export?

Is it possible to use the “Use Original Media” option if you didn’t import directly into FCPX?

I’m new to FCPX and conforms in general, so many thanks.

When you’re exporting your FCPX XML, how specifically do you go back to your r3d files? In Red Cine? In FCPX?

Thanks. Could you also educate me on what a compound clip is? I’m presuming it’s when there are separate elements attached to a shot. If so, how should those elements be delivered? Are they put together by Technicolor?

Great. Thanks, Chad. It’s still not playing on my client LCD TV though, should I change any of the AJA settings?

Hi Chad, thanks for getting back. The footage is DVCPRO HD 720p60, 23.98fps. Right now, my Kona 3 settings are 525i29.97.

Thanks. Perhaps you can shed some light on something else; the project is 16:9. I exported a quicktime animation at 864×486 and plan to give the duplication house that file. Should I only export at 720×486 and somehow compensate?

    Thanks,

Thanks for the reply. I’ll bring the file back into Avid and see what happens. I’m seeing the lines on the computer screen as I do not have a broadcast monitor. I saw the lines when I blew up the source quicktime file that I exported from Avid Xpress DV. I tried exporting it with the animation codec, but when I did so, the file looked blown out and didn’t have the same look as it did in Avid. A bit confusing indeed.
