Well, I already use DVD Shrink, which rips the DVD quite well onto my hard drive, but I don’t know how to turn those VSO files into Avid media files. Any suggestions?

That’s great. What are these “third party programs.”

I trashed the databases again and it worked fine.

    Thanks!

I trashed the data files and everything came back OK. Thanks for the help!

Yet, when I tried to capture more footage, the new clips (and only the new clips) were “offline”. Does constantly reloading my data files harm the program at all?

The drive is mounted and playing other projects just fine. The clips for this particular project won’t play anywhere. Perhaps I should change the AVID data files?

    Thanks for the advice.

I just tried relinking the clip to no avail. Any further suggestions?

I use a dell for my Avid and it works great. I talked to an Avid technician once about whether it would work and he told me, “Avid’s are very, VERY picky.” Not entirely true apparently. Just be sure to get a fast Dell. May as well since you’re saving so much money!
