Okay, so a couple responses.
About using the Decklink Quad. Using Media Express you can choose which of the SDI inputs you are capturing from at any given time. You can also use a software like Softtron which has been tested with Decklink Quad (and several other of our boards). This might be overkill for what you need, as the software does a ton.
As for the Audio on the 2ME, all of the ATEM switchers are currently Video only, the audio is disregarded, unless it is patched in to the audio inputs on the switcher.
As for the Ultrastudio Pro, I’m curious about the audio, it should take audio from the analog inputs. This is just a sanity check, but did you set the Blackmagic Control panel? Make sure that the input is set for SDI video and Analog Audio.

Well, Wirecast does the testing on that. And I don’t think they’ve specifically tested the Multibridge family. However, the good news is that all of our capture/playback devices use the same driver/software interface. So it’s highly likely that if the device works on a Decklink, it will work with a Multibridge or Intensity as well.
BUT…
That multibridge does not have two discreet SDI inputs. It has 1 SDI input, that can either be Dual Link SDI (meaning it requires channels A and B), or it is a single link SDI input meaning it makes use of only SDI channel A.
In the Blackmagic control panel you would set the input to be Analog/SDI/HDMI there. But there will not be an option to toggle between SDI A and B.

I’ll pass these observations on to the PM for review.
But this item in particular is working as designed.
– all SD video captures still have incorrect aspect ratio headers. Despite “Use anamorphic” set in Preferences all files end up with 4:3 header and not even as much quicktime DAR set. This issue is so old I don’t remember ME captures ever displaying correctly without changing it in QT and re-saving.This setting in the preferences is a “display” setting only. As the native aspect ratio of Anamorphic SD is 4:3 (data stored out of aspect), We are relying on the device to decode this at 16:9. So that setting will not change the content of the file, it just displays it in Media Express at 16:9 even though the data is still written at 4:3.
The audio issue is interesting, i’ll have to find out if there was a particular reason we did it this way instead of on discreet mono channels or in stereo pairs.
The still image thing is an interesting point. Again going back to the way that “16:9 preference” works, it’s only for displaying the image, it doesn’t actually change the content. So, in a sense it does match the file. I’d also like to see more robust options for dealing with anamorphic SD video.

As of right now, no. These features are for the Hyperdeck Studio and Shuttle 2. We are looking at seeing if we can add the timecode to the Shuttle 1 in a future update.

This can only do the 220x codec. This is a 220 Mb/second and the “X” means 10bit.

If you are using Premiere on a PC then you can choose DVCPro HD or MotionJPEG as compressed solutions. On the Mac you can chose DVCPro HD.
The files are large because they are being captured uncompressed. So choosing a compressed project setting will reduce the file size to approximately 1/10th the uncompressed size (give or take).

Yup, I will certainly pass it on. We definitely try to be transparent that is one reason it is never hard to find a price on our product. It’s on the website on every bit of marketing. But I do get where you are coming from to be sure.
A bit off-topic: As a side note, the DNxHD works with our Media Express as of the current BETA release of the drivers.

Hey guys,
Yeah I can totally understand how that would be confusing and frustrating. So, Bob, obviously the tech was relaying the information that she had which is that they are, in fact shipping. Okay…so let’s talk meat and potatoes. We’ve already sent out our initial shipments but are currently waiting on replenishment. So the items have shipped, backorders obviously being filled first. Once we get more we’ll start getting more into the channel.
Eric, i’m not making an excuse here, obviously in cases of the 2ME we’re pretty late on that one, for which there obviously reasons. In other cases we simply underestimate the demand a certain product will generate.
In short, I hear you on these things and it’s something we’re very aware of and are pushing to do better on.

There is no camera integration on the Hyperdeck Shuttle. So what you’ve read is right. It will not record until you press the record button on the Hyperdeck.
As for recording both, that should not be a problem, but you’d need to hit record on the camera to write the file to the internal card and the record button on the Hyperdeck to start the record there.

Hey Josh,
That is correct. The Hyperdeck Studio and Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 support Uncompressed 10bit YUV 4:2:2 and Avid DNxHD MXF 220x (which is a 220 Mb/second 10bit file). The Hypderdeck Shuttle 1 (initial hardware release) only supports the uncompressed format.
Media Composer 6 is a complex piece of software and you can export a file as MXF but it takes some work. Exporting a ProRes file is far less complex, but it can be done if you have MC6.
I’d like to kinda weigh in on the last statement as well. I think it’s fair to say that ProRes is currently the MOST popularly requested codec. But because it is a feature that does not exist, and has not been announced as a feature, assigning it a priority is purely speculation.
Short version: I don’t think that saying it’s low on a priority list is accurate.
I do apologize for any confusion. I like to make sure the support staff stay away from saying stuff like that as it can lead to misunderstandings like this.
