What device is connected to the card? Is it an HDMI device and specifically what device. There are a few cameras out there that will force themselves to down convert (HCR7 and a few others) when connected to our boards. If this is happening we will have to look closer.

Unfortunately no. Our boards do not do this. However this can be achieved by using two boards in the same machine on a PC. Of course a specialized software is required to handle both cards. But in theory you could use a setup like this to capture with one board and output with another.

I am not 100% sure about this, but I don’t think Parallels will let you access hardware in XP mode. I believe this is because it is simply XP running over OSX.
I am pretty sure you need to use bootcamp to do that.

Setting? Well. Perhaps. Could be that the deck needs to be set to take commands from the RS422. As for our board, as long as the Decklink Serial port is showing up in the device manager, it should be ready to go.
Outside of the deck, the only real setting I can think to check is to make sure that premiere is set to use the decklink serial port as device control.

Right in line with what Bob has said.
It seems that these particular monitor have a proprietary interface (related to display port) which will limit it’s audience. I have not seen one yet, nor have I tested it so I am not sure if it will work.
Apple seems to be using Mini Displayport which at this time only apple seems to be using.
Now if you take for instance that the display port signaling should be backwards compatible with DVI then given that the adapters are available then it “MIGHT” work. However without the proper adaptors or the monitor to test I would be hard pressed to tell.
I can certainly see the possibilities for hangups. But don’t count DVI out. It will take a goodly amount of time before these disappear, and I certainly wouldn’t worry about quality issues.s

Interesting. If you use the video generators and put 1080i50 bars on the timeline, does the footage play out? Also, what easy setup are you using in FCP?
Something you could do as a test as well is try it in our own playback capture app, Media Express. This should help us detirmine if this is simply a setup issue (which I expect it might be).

Ah…yes. The greyed out bit is just the title. The options are bright below it. So using the HD to SD 16:9 option (anamorphic or letterbox depending on what you want to do with it) will be the right way to go.

Sorry, I think I am confused then. That deck has an RS422a port on it. You can use that. Or are you saying that that remote port is not working for you?

It’s true. The feature that Kaspar mentioned in his email is not in our current products. It is largely unneeded now. Basically what that did is to output a small stable video signal on output from SDI B to be used to lock a deck.
However most decks can simply be set to us the input video as reference (though they must be set through the menu).
As Bob mentioned this does not always work without hangups, it can work. In any event having a sync generator is more ideal and they can be had relatively inexpensively.
