The diamonds in the reference image are made of paper…so seems the reflection would be pretty minimal (if at all).

I used most of those suggestions and tried a few other things. Getting better, but still not quite there. I don’t know…can’t put my finger on it (especially on those bottom few diamonds).

Yeah, I’m already using Keylight. Like I mentioned in the main post, it’s not a straight forward key. I’m using two layers of the same footage, with the top layer acting as an alpha matte.
Those green edges are effectively the shadows from the surrounding footage and I need them to be something more…shadow colored? 🙂

Yeah, another trick you posted back in 2007 about using multiple layers and alpha mattes ultimately did the trick.
Will try the spill suppressors.
What color would I be settings the suppressor to? The green?

So on #1, are you saying I’d track the photos in Mocha, and then export the shape data to After Effects and key those layers just enough so I get the shadow data on the video inserts?

No more photos will be placed onto the green plate. It is the last shot.
Photos are placed in random order and no hands cross over other photos.

The final framing looks like that last screenshot I attached.
That’s an actual shot from the footage I’m working with. The photos were placed on set as part of the shot. Photos were placed by hand as the shot progressed.
So, it starts off with nothing else on screen except that green card, then photos are gradually added to the shot by “actors” on set.

Ross, this sounds awesome.
What’s the actual workflow with this? I’ve got mocha AE 3.0.1.
If I start off tracking a low res version, would I use the “Relink” button in the Clip panel and just relink to the full res? Or would I import the full res separately and somehow switch back and forth between them?
