Between this forum and twitter, I hear plenty about updates 😉
Once I’m working on a project, I’m reluctant to update anything. I just wanted to “silence” it for a while.

Here’s how I’ve been doing it:
Use “Link to AMA file” in Media Composer to bring the QT file in
Select the clip and consolidate it. I believe this just rewraps the file as an MXF.
After it’s done consolidating, right click the .new file and choose “reveal file”
Move your file to a convenient location and add to your media poolJosh Petok

September 30, 2011 at 3:47 pm in reply to: Copy grade with controllermate ? still searchingControllermate has an output called “cursor.” This enables you to move the mouse to any pixel on the screen. After that, you can add a “mouse button” output that emulates any mouse click that you want.
Here’s how it works:
Make a screenshot of Resolve in the tab you are working in and bring it into controllermate with the screenshot viewer (it’s in the inspector).
In the viewer, you can make some measurements of exactly what pixel you want to click on. Use the measurements in your “cursor” output.

I have had very good results with Skylite Media

Aarin was the calibrator and did an excellent job. Not sure about matching those monitors to each other though since they’re such different technologies.

Ah! For some reason I had the notion that the regular keyboard number keys would allow you to jump to the shot number. My bad 😉

For $15, you can use controllermate to remap the number keys on your keyboard:

Thanks for your comments Mike 🙂
I completely agree that a source file workflow would be much more efficient. Additionally, you would get all the benefits of working with the raw files (if it was shot). You lose that once it’s compressed down to a DNxHD or ProRes file.
I’m hopeful that a strong relationship will be built between Avid and Blackmagic so we all can follow a sane workflow. As it stands today, I can’t really use their source file method. I believe there are projects that it would make sense for, just not for the ones I’m working on presently.
Have you worked with Film Master on any of your shows? I’ve seen their Avid workflow demoed, but haven’t used it on an actual production. It stands to reason if THEY can pull that off, Blackmagic should be able to as well, right? Wasn’t there some relationship between Nucoda and Avid at some point?
