Yes, it is XDCAM codec… is that the problem? I have checked all other suggestions and nothing is wrong there

    Stuart,

Yes, I have tried all of the above… I’m very familiar with AE, but this one has me stumped!

My speakers are on… I try the period key, the scrub… no audio!

    Audio icons are all visible…

Thanks all for your help, but I posted the question after seeing scopebox and being poor and having no money and wanted to know if FCP will do it for free!

Ok, so I exported it to a mac drive and the entire file is 17 GB… but I still experience the same problem when taking it to compressor or DVDSP…

    Back to square one!!

Can you offer any more suggestions?

    thanks!

You are right, In a normal world would render it all out, but because of the nature of this project.. (there is no editing to do), all I need to do is show it to the client, then export to DVD… for that reason (and because I just spent an hour and a half rendering the audio.. I just need to make sure I can save it and that when the client comes tomorrow to watch it, the audio render will be in tact… I will not be moving or changing anything in the timeline.

OK.. so in short, I have to put up with the render… since I dont think I want to recompress

One follow up, and thanks for your reply… once I rendered this and it took an hour and a half… then I saved and closed and the next time I reopened the red line was back…

What gives? How can I make sure that does not happen?

    David,

Thanks for this.. it helped with the edges, but the skirt issue digital noise remains and is most noticable…. I just dont understand why it looks great on the intermediate version

    thanks

  • Thanks… I’m not quite sure what you mean about The EX1 being good for pulling the camera away from the subject… cant you do this with any camera? Why do you say the EX1 is good for this?

    Thanks for your help

Yes, thanks, But I am trying to add color bars and tones and the countdown clock you usually get from using the edit to tape feature…

Is this possible with the QT export?
