Sorry – My mistake – I am using DVC Pro HD – much larger files – 8 mins is 20 gigs. How would I use media manager for this? I have never used it…

    Thanks

October 14, 2006 at 4:13 pm in reply to: I’m losing quality from AE to FCP!

To to address an issue brought up earlier – I should always render out of FCP with the “make movie self contained” unchecked (why?) and I should bring that ‘dependent’ quicktime movie into AE, do my stuff in AE – making sure if there is any vertical movement of the footage – make sure it is a whole pixel at a time and then export that out of AE using the same codec the footage was originally captured in? (why?)

Can someone please check my math here and let me know if I understand all this correctly.

    Thanks a million!

Yes, I think the second set of sound blocking doors is the way to go – that is definately the biggest source of sound leakage. How would I do this though? Where do I start?

    thanks

    September 21, 2005 at 1:26 pm in reply to: 24 p question

“The best you can hope for is if the 24p has 3:2 pulldown added and is on a 29.97fps timeline that at least the frame rates are the same, but now you’ve got, effectively 24p and 30p on the timeline, and they won’t look the same.”

This is exactly what I have – 24p that has the 3:2 pulldown added and is on a 29.97 fps timeline. What is the best way to treat it? Why wouldn’t they look the same if I just converted the 24fps lightwave animation to a 2997 timeline and exported then brought that into the other 2997 timeline?

    Thanks
