If you find that you’re really close to what you want, but want a few tweaks, just use the Brainstorm tool, select the variable(s) you want to use to change the look, and then click away – you’ll get numerous variations with no heavy lifting.

July 20, 2013 at 7:46 pm in reply to: YouSendIt is now HighTail- 10GB file size limit upgradeI use Dropbox, a paid 100GB account, and have had very good luck with it. The few times I’ve had problems, I used SoShare, and have had extremely fast downloads on the client end:
It’s free to send up to a Terrabyte, and the sent file lasts for 30 days, so it’s a transfer, not a storage, service. Here’s a good rundown on it:

Just wish that it had occurred to me sooner – it would have saved you some time. By putting the Crop above the key, it removed some pixels on the edge of the frame, which weren’t green, then the Keyer was able to take care of the rest.

One thing you might try, if you’re comfortable with it, is shutting down your computer, pulling the power cord, then reseating your video card. It’s a stretch, but you never know. Do you back up your registry? If so, you might want to just try a restore – if you don’t do it, it’s a great way to save the bacon when problems such as this come up.

It looks as if you may either have a malware problem or that there’s a hardware problem causing your crashes. Here’s a good discussion on it:

What order are your effects in? Do you have the Crop above the Keyer, or vice versa? Maybe just changing the order of effects will do the job. This should be working…

July 19, 2013 at 8:00 pm in reply to: First time in a studio – how should I light it?Also beware that when you’re shooting from light stands, rather than a ceiling grid, you may well get some nasty flare in the lens. You might want to think about putting some light blocking material above the lens, or a matte box on your camera.

I would think that the Crop Effect from the Effects panel should do the trick. It seems that you’re just seeing some artifacting from the edge of the frame when you move the clip over.

From what I’ve read and tried, Element 3D doesn’t play too well with the 3D within AE, but, that said, it’s worth a try. You might try using one of the built in basic objects which come with Element to see if you can do it that way. Take the keyed green screen shot, put it in a layer, use it as a custom texture, then position it in Element’s 3D space. You know, I’m not entirely sure whether or not element will take a custom texture with an alpha…due to OpenGL. Take a look around here:
