I believe for the mac you need a Keyspan adapter to convert the serial control (RS422) to a USB signal. I’ve heard different things about Keyspan under OSX – it works and it doensn’t. The only other way to control your deck without the adapter is to run Firewire in to the Mojo, which in your case you can’t do.

No industry standard, other than it needs to be readable… I like Arial, or a nice Swiss font. Mmmm, Swiss font…
It really is a judgement call on your or the client’s part.

Simply alt (PC) or command (Mac) drag an effect to put multiple FX on one clip.

Have you set up you deck in deck configuration?
Make sure your deck is on
Go to setting>deck configuration
select ‘OHCI compliant’ (I think – I’m not in front of an Avid…)
‘Add new deck’
Find your deck in the two drop down menus
click applyShould be there… Post back if you have any questions…

I’ve talked to my ‘Mac’ guy – he knows of no prohibition on using underscores in file names. In fact, using underscores instead of spaces is the safest way to deliver a product for the web, especiallly when you have to put a workorder number in the title.
As for documentation, I checked my “Missing Manual for OS X” book (kinda’ like a dummies book) and there is no prohibition on underscores in the file naming convention. I suspect your editor may be working on knowledge gained from the days of ‘Mac and PC shall never talk to each other’.
As far as documentation, I googled “underscores in avid mac files” and found this:

It talks about an old Avid system (v11 on Meridian) but it carries directly forward to the current generation of editors.
Finally, naming conventions are dictated by the OS, not the application (generally speaking).

Macs and PC’s play together pretty nicely now. As long as you are using Avid’s Media Log, shouldn’t have any problem with logging on either system and getting those files into the Avid…

I don’t know about cross platform, but on the PC I ALWAYS use underscores. I use them in sequence names, bin names and project names – NEVER a problem. We’ve got some Mac guys at work – I’ll ask them and post back.

1. Do you have ONLY the track activated you are trying to paste to? (I hope that makes sense…). In other words, turn off all the tracks in your sequence except the one you want to paste to…
2. The best way to add filler at the end of your sequence is to create a black title in title tool.
