  • Multiple effects on one clip?

Posted by Juan Cantero on June 23, 2009 at 7:30 pm

    Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to place multiple effects on one clip, on the same track (like we do in Final Cut). Or do we always have to place the effect on the empty track above the clip in question.

Say for example I want to re-size and color correct the clip. Can I do this on the same clip and video track? This would help keep my timeline less cluttered. Thanks,

    Juan

Simply alt (PC) or command (Mac) drag an effect to put multiple FX on one clip.

Thanks, but is there a limit to how many effects can be added on? Also, it seems like certain effects cancel others out. Like depending on the effect I can have multiple, or just one.

Which FX cancel each other out?

1 Drop your first effect onto the video clip
    2. In segment mode, double click on the video clip and it will generate an extra copy of that clip above it. You can add a new effect to this new clip.
    3. Double click on this new clip to generate another copy etc.
    4. Double click the original clip at the bottom to close the new clips down. The extra effects are hidden or “nested”
