    Hi Jimmy,

if you’re still having tech issues with ProAnimator, I would suggest contacting Zaxwerks support directly. They’ll help you worth through any issues you might have. Typically video card drivers need to be current. Beyond that, I’m on a Mac, so I’m sorry to say I don’t have more specific advice.

    Hi Jim,

Before you move the objects, try unclicking the start at center box in the upper left corner of the pose positioning controls.

    Hi clintwood,

You need to use the material editor to create a material and click on the large thumbnail to select the image you want to apply to the object. (You can apply it as a straight image, as a reflection map, as a bump map or as a transparency map. Then apply that material to your object. You’ll find lots of detail about this if you search the forum archive… or check out material editor in the manual. If you get stuck, let us know.

    Hi Clint,

Zaxwerks 3D Flag creates a 3d mesh like a flag that you can animate by manipulating wind speed and other variables. You can map any other AE layer to the surface of the mesh.

    Hi Karen,

Bump maps create the illusion of a 3d texture on the surfaces of your objects. Grunge can come in many forms… if you’re looking for “dirty” colors, you can do this with animage map. If you’re looking for a distressed surface (think of dents, bumps and scratches, you can use a combination of bump, image and even reflection maps.

Search the tutorials section of this site for the term and you’ll probably come up with something.

You might also check out dvgarage.com. They have a lot of information and products relating to surfacing 3d objects.

    HI Dennis,

Nothing’s wrong. You’re probably looking at draft mode without much smoothing. Move the draft mode slider and you’ll see the object change from angled to smooth. Draft mode looks crude to allow for fast animation previews.

Look at best-quality mode and you’ll see the end result.

    Hello atleditor,

You can use a sphere and an image map and a bump map for a basic baseball. You can create a far more realistic baseball with actual stitches, but it’ll take more work. One easy solution – Serge’s Invigomany package. A great baseball is part of it.
