Hey Graham, I was still puzzled by why Vegas only shows half my ram is available. It shows 32 GB and I have 64.

Might there be a setting to allow me to use more of my actual RAM?

Ha! Yes, I guess I have dipped the old toes!

Render time, way reduced, yes! First time ever!

Template started as MainConcept Internet 4K 2160p but I increased maximum bit depth to 100,000,000 and minimum to 50,000,000

Rendered using CUDA. (Check GPU said CUDA available)

    Render quality: best

    RAM: 30000 (max avail: 32768)

    NVIDIA Quadro P4000

I have about 16 different 4 K videos all coming in and out with processing and fades etc.

Render time on the 5 minute piece went from almost 3 hours to just over 40 minutes.

My question was asking why the dynamic RAM only reports I can use half my RAM?

I want more MORE MORE! lol

I’m learning about proxies, thanks! The dynamic preview thing will really help in the meantime! Appreciate it! Cheers

Thanks. Not sure what you mean… I’m trying to edit the multiple clips this session contains. Do you mean render them together?

The cartoon effect is definitely the culprit. Without it, the file would render in a few minutes.

I downloaded the CUDA toolkit and set the render settings to use CUDA if available.

Now I see in windows task manager/performance that the GPU is taking a bit of the stress off the CPU. Not a lot mind you, but as you say, I guess the BCC plugin is more CPU intensive.

I’ll inform about whether it was any faster once my render is complete.

    Cheers
