Hi Chris,

Thanks for this tip. Any other info regarding the other specs?

Audio Levels:

Audio reference lineup should be -18dBfs (0 dBu / UK ppm 4)
Peak program level should not exceed -10dBfs (+8dBu / UK ppm 6)
Speech should be between -18dBfs to 13 dBfs (UK ppm 3 to 5)

Ah, just worked it out. If there’s an outline where the title is about to be dropped, it’ll split the video footage and if there’s a solid dark grey block, it’ll be overlayed.

I ended up using convertfiles.com to create a WMV for them to use, though Flip4Mac looks increasingly like something I’m going to have to invest in.

I went about creating my own clock in After Effects, based on another example which someone very kindly posted up on another forum.

For the purpose of a test, I created this “30 sec ad template” in After Effects and Premiere Pro CS6. Obviously the slate info could change depending on what each network wanted.

Bars and tone for 5 secs, clock for 28 secs, 2-pop and black screen for 2 secs, 30 sec ad, 5 secs of black frames at end:

Do you think this sort of thing will be acceptable to broadcasters?

On another note – I didn’t realise Ad-ID’s had to be licensed to each agency until today. Do broadcasters always look for them or are they optional?

Thanks for the reply – appreciate it. That’s cleared up bars and tones for me!

I use Premiere Pro and After Effects so I’ve posted on Yahoo groups to see if somebody has one that I can use. Any other ideas as to where I might find a clock template for PPro/AE?

Would just like to add that this thread has helped me out a bunch as well.

Got ProRes codecs working with the CS6 version of Adobe Media Encoder now.

Only problem I had was that I didn’t have a QuickTime folder in my Library so I didn’t know where to put the component files. Turned out you can just make the folder yourself and it still works.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the reply.

I seem to be leaning towards investing in a wired lav for the meantime, and an external audio recorder later.

If I stick to 1/8th cables/jacks, am I able to safely run these along side each other without fear of interference? And do you know if the Tascam/Zoom external recorders can accept multiple 3.5mm inputs?
