Thanks. The original footage is indeed in MP4 format and I did just try converting to an uncompressed AVI and tried tracking on that, but it was no faster. I’m using CS4v9 on Win XP.

Understood guys, but I have a rather large video with large tracking area that takes maybe 7 hours to track. I needed to be able to use the PC for other tasks as well besides tracking, so I decided to try something. I set up AE on another unused PC here and I do have a KVM switch here so I can switch between PC’s. I thought using the normally unused PC for tracking would solve the problem, but when I switch screens, the tracking stops. So essentially I can’t even KVM switch PC screens without the tracking stopping. Any thoughts? I really need to have my main PC free while the other tracks and be able to switch screens without a tracking stop. thanks, Jon

  • Thanks! I think that suggestion will pretty much solve the problem. I did go back and correct using a different method, but took much time over what you suggest.

Thanks, Pete, but I am trying to blur non-moving and *not* moving.

Thanks. I knew that, but all the information does is identify each of the buttons in the plug-in and doesn’t really explain how to use it in depth.

Thanks, I think they’ll help a lot. I don’t suppose there’s a way to download and view them later? That would be the most helpful for me.

Thanks, however, I’m fairly new to AE in general and only somewhat follow the process you’re sharing. Can you suggest any tutorials?

    Thanks,
    Jon
