Using the reverse function, can you use a clip rather than the images sequence? It might be freaking out reading the massive amount of images in reverse?
I find the hold frame function a little crap. I export a still and replace it with the section I’ve got on hold. Much better result.
It’s interesting situations like this I’m fascinated to work out in person. hahahaha.
I guess using work arounds is the best way to work with this situation. Reverse the clip at 100% and make a separate clip with this. Use that as the one to shrink it to 70 or whatever, always moving in forward speed changes.

Hi Brian,
The moment you deinterlace footage you lose half of the information making that image.
TV never needs to be deinterlaced. Interlacing issues only show up if they are in the wrong (conflicting) order upper (odd) instead of lower (even) first.
Leave the setting to what ever the footage is.
1. Export the setting the project is in.
2. Check the Project> Project Settings> General.
3. That will probably be the default setting as you export.
If you do choose the opposite field dominance you’ll get the ugly footage shifting all over the place.

Just opened up a new HDV 30i 1080 project imported and that was it?
Are you working in a Hardware based project? (Matrox Axio, Blackmagic?) Might cause the problem?

Is there a way I could open up a project then open up another project and add it’s contents into the first project?

Yes. Do just that.

I am trying to export my project to Encore so I could burn onto DVD but when I go into File-export- the export to Encore option is not available (it’s not highlited) Doesn’t Encore come with Premiere Pro CS3?

When you buy Premiere Pro CS3 it comes with EncoreDVD so yes it should be there. You must have the timeline selected then go to File> Export> EncoreDVD

But if that doesn’t work..And you can open EncoreDVD separately, export from the timeline in PProCS3…
1. Export with Adobe Media Encoder as MPEG-2, use the same preset of your project (NTSC/PAL)
2. Open EncoreDVD and Import the MPEG-2.
3. Make a new Timeline, add the asset. Tell it to End link to itself to loop.
4. Burn it, test it.
5. Repair/Reinstall EncoreDVD or maybe Premiere Pro CS3 to get the function back.

You need to alt the aspect ratio distortion – I think it’s about 30?
Or
Select the clip in the timeline, press cmd+9, tick the anamorphic colomn.

The only other thing you can do is add a little blur to the file.
1. Go to effects panel
2. type in fast blur
3. add fast blur to the clip
4. go to effect controls
5. set the blur to 1 horizontal & vertical
6. tick the repeat edges box.
That should look nice and smooth without looking blurry.

I just used your graphic and it looks perfect. Not sure what you’re problem is related to. De-interlacing will destroy half of the lines making the picture. That was the only way I could make it look jaggie. Don’t deinterlace.

Web best performer for Youtube is the H.264 Youtube setting. Just change the frame rate to 25 if you are coming from PAL.
It will come up as a custom – save it if you want to repeat using it. Shouldn’t take long to render, provided it’s not effects heavy.

Place the overlaying (super) footage on a video track above the underlying one. Goto the Motion effect in the effect controls with the super layer selected. Resize it and position it. That’s it.
You can move the video layer with the mouse by selecting the clip, click on the program monitor. You should get a wireframe/bounding box. grab the corner to resize drag the clip around to set a new position.
Keep inside title safe zones for it.

There is no multi clip batch fix.
I usually set an audio layer for the clips that need the clean, finish the edit export the whole audio layer on its own, (Solo in mixer), then import or send it to soundbooth to clean it as one whole clip.
