Slow Media Encoder
Having finished a music video, and having a good quality version of it, I thought I could try this media encoder which I am not so familiar with to export a web friendly version.
This seemed good as I could create a flash or wmv straight from the source material, without another program in between. But why does it take so long? Is it normal to take 2 seconds per frame? The wmv was taking so long I skipped and thought the flash would be best. i chose from the preset PAL options, so as to keep harmony with the program. I also have a lot of RAM so am not sure why it should be tkaing so long.. Ideas? What is the best format for general web distribution (youtube etc.)? Am I choosing the right formats? -

Web best performer for Youtube is the H.264 Youtube setting. Just change the frame rate to 25 if you are coming from PAL.
It will come up as a custom – save it if you want to repeat using it. Shouldn’t take long to render, provided it’s not effects heavy.
