I’m really disappointed with Panasonic. They have had the camera for over a week and just managed to look at it today. Tech says the camera is fine batteries are defective. He told me not to use my batteries with other types of cameras as that’s what damaged them. Thanks guy- I didn’t – the camera somehow damaged them. No it didn’t. Ah- yes it did. No it didn’t- your batteries are only warranties for 10 days- go buy new ones.
Brilliant.

Hey All- I just reinstalled 10.4.8 after numerous problems with the update. I didnt have the same issues as previous posts but my issues arose with compressor and dvd-rom disks I had burned after the update not being able to be read my the authoring machine when they were reinserted.
I inquired with a Mac tech and he said he had seen numerous stange problems come in that were solved by archiving and reinstalling the OS updated to 10.4.8 only. He recomended waiting for Leopard before next update.

December 8, 2006 at 4:15 pm in reply to: Who needs to provide liability insurance for a shoot?I understand the client requiring liability but this is the first time I’ve had a producer require my policy. I am insured already so thats noit an issue. What concerns me is that if something happens on set it will be come a game of finger pointing with lawyers. I supose thats were ins lawyers get paid and why i pay them.
Thanks for the feed back Bruce. I feel beter knowing other producers require crew to come to set with liability.

By applying a 16×9 preset in compressor to the video plants a flag that studio pro see’s when it’s mpeg is imported. If for some reeason it still squishes it the display setting for the video and be changed in the inspector by selecting the clip instance. Hope that helps.

I have also had this problem. When you change the anomorphic button it dosnt change the actual number of pixels- it just “streches” them. In order to get a QT to display properly export out a new QT video out of QTpro with the desired PAL 720×576 anomorphic pref in the size option box. I usually am compressing for dvd so i just set the 16×9 compression setting and it displays correctly on dvd.

Good luck- I tried once to do aa quick and dirty credit and ended up spending hours trying to make it look OK. Certain apps were made to do specific things. FCP is great in certain areas but I now go strait to Motion or AE for any motion graphics. Its what they do best.
