October 22, 2012 at 8:11 am in reply to: AVID changes system audio volume?

My Avid has suddenly started to do the same thing.

It won’t play audio from any other source other than Avid UNLESS I have the Avid windows on top of all the other programs (Mac).

Note: It doesn’t just turn the volume low, the audio speaker monitor symbol turns to mute when I click anywhere else other than Avid.

Michael, your click and hold suggestion doesn’t seem to do anything for me either. Christopher did you sort this at all?

    Thanks

    Hi Michael

Thank you very much for your advice. It was very insightful. It has transpired that we are going to go with the CineForm codec as the CineDeck will be recording Master files (something I did not know at the time of my original post).

We will be using CineForm FirstLight to apply an LUT for offline editing.

Thanks again for your advice, it seems to have filed in-line with what it happening in reality. Always a plus!

    Take Care

  • I thought as much. Thank you very much for your time.

November 3, 2011 at 10:30 am in reply to: FCP – Sudden loss of audio in view window…

Wow…. After ages trying to figure this out yesterday I finally solved it. My sequence settings audio output was only 4 tracks not 2. I.e. it was trying to play out 4 tracks of audio through my speaks instead of mixing them down to 2 (I think). Now everything is fine…

Hopefully this will help someone out in the future…

I feel schizophrenic with all these posts…

    Thanks me!

    Ok… UPDATE!

I just moved the audio tracks in the timeline (from the WAV) from tracks 3 & 4 to 1 & 2 and I hear the audio. However I have audio enabled on ALL tracks. The AIFF only has 2 tracks. How can this be?

    Cheers
