  • Saving Media Only Used in Cut

    Hi there

I was wondering if it was possible to save the media only used in a final sequence? i.e. rather than saving whole source clips, saving each individual cut clip….

    This is for backup purposes.

how would i go about this?

Is there an export setting that exports each individual cut as separate media?

Any help would be much appreciated…. thank you

Sounds like you need Media Manager. While the project is open, go to file > media manager (pretty sure it’s under file but I really don’t pay attention anymore…I just do it…and I’m not in front of my machine right now).

Make sure you use the copy method, then go back and delete the old stuff afterwards.

Checkout Automatic Duck’s Media Copy 2 https://www.automaticduck.com/products/mc/ You export an XML and MC2 copies all the media where you want it.

A Final Cut Pro to Color round trip grading session would also accomplish this with the creation of brand new media (only what the cut contained).
