  • Wow, crickets on this one.

Interestingly, I received help from Red GIant, seemed to resolve the problem on a test sequence. However, at the ludicrous hour in the middle of the night in which I edit, Plural Eyes failed again, even after making the adjustments instructed from support.
So, I’ve been trying to reach support at Red Giant for days now. No response, email, support ticket, phone…nothing.
This first time they responded within a day! So, what gives now? You can’t even leave a message on their voicemail, even if you call during business hours.

Has anyone heard that Red Giant is having problems staying afloat?

    Getting concerned.

This is good for me to follow.

So far, the way to structure multi-cam will not permit you to use a timeline as the starting point. And I say that only as a fairly recent user to PP. Perhaps there is another way.

Alright, Alright, Alright…found where they are stored in the same project, we’ll see if they remain there in the new project later this week.

Today I started a new project for tonight’s show.

I imported the usual clips used for each show, including some commercials, interstitials, segment intros, etc.
When either playing these clips or laying on the timeline, no audio heard. I know the audio is there based on the vu meter.

After laying down a couple on the timeline, tried solo audio, mute audio, no effect whatsoever.

So weird, but, I’m taking bets on how many times PP has to be launched before I am able to hear the audio!!

UPDATE: Only 1 re-launch necessary!! I love it when a plan comes together.

Note to self: Don’t close PP until show is complete, encoded and uploaded!

    Have a great day!

I’ve tried this solution once, it did not work. I will give it a shot the next time I launch PP again.

It has been almost a month, and no relief from this irritating issue. One time it took 4 closing and reopening Premiere Pro to get the output audio to work. Fortunately, I do not work in front of a client or this would be a deal killer.
There is no consistent pattern to this frustrating bug. Right now I’m about to attempt to launch again for the third time, let’s roll the dice!!

Not really. Can’t fine a consistent solution. Last couple of days problem hasn’t occurred. But, it may happen the next time I launch PP requiring multiple reboots?? Basically, I keep PP open as long as I can.

The video files are AVCHD (with audio), but the master audio is a .wav file.

It doesn’t matter what the audio source is, simply no audio. The last time I opened the project, it took 3 reboots to get it to work. My googling has indicated this is a well known problem.

I may take a look at this option, Nels.

Just downloaded PP and starting using it a few days ago for the first time in 15 or so years. I have 9 video tracks with audio that I need to match up to a master audio file. (Multicam talk show) Due to the crappy codecs of the canon cameras used, an hour long shows generates about 8 x 2 gig limit files. These files will offer nice gaps of 1 to 5 frames on each camera x 9 cameras total. So synching is a challenge already, however, the waveforms seem to be off by 3-5 frames themselves, leaving me to sync by video…which is just wonderful!
I’m not sure if the low end cameras are responsible for the slippage or if its happening on the timeline. Since this is a brand new Premiere, it is hard to image that i need to purge any cache’s at this point.

    Anyway, back to my syncing…
