The .Net Framework is simply a run-time library that sits on your hard drive until some application uses it. It does not actively run on your computer and there is no harm in installing it. I would install .Net 1.0, & 1.1 for Vegas, and 2.0 for ATI. Then see if that clears up the problem. If not, re-install Vegas 6 now that all the .Net software is re-installed.

Yes, there is no way to change the palette dimensions one created.

That’s exactly how the tag tree works. The palette is just an alternate view of the tags. Are you not seeing this behavior? Make sure you have your match mode set correctly at the top (i.e., Match All, Match Any).

Not only are the not cumulative but they are not upward compatible either meaning you can’t run .Net 1.1 programs on 2.0; you need to still have 1.1 installed.

It’s you… or rather your LCDs…

Vegas does not “capture” in the “analog” sense of the word. The Canon XH-A1 is HDV and as such, what we call “capture” is really a “file transfer” of the exact bits that are on the tape to the hard drive bit-for-bit totally lossless in the digital domain.

Is the LCD on your camera calibrated? Have you run color bars through it and adjusted it properly? Is the LCD on your PC properly calibrated and profiled? Have you used a hardware calibrator such as a Spyder3Pro or Huey to do this? If the answer to any of these questions is no… then that’s your answer. If your LCD’s are not calibrated then chances are they will not match.

Core 2 is the second generation dual core by Intel. “Dual Core” was an abomination and should be avoided like the plague. They were slower than single core machines! I’m surprised they are still around. I guess they are fine for web surfing and word processing but you don’t want Dual Core for video editing, you want Core 2 Duo.

Yea, I see what you mean with vertical oriented media. You can only go so far. In order to keep the true resolution in Pan/Crop you may have to use Track Motion to position.

Because Pan/Crop is not setting the dimension of the picture, it’s controlling the dimension of the frame. Setting the frame size to match the project size will present the media at it’s original resolution.
