    We both have 8.0c.

On my friend’s computer, at the left and right of each event, a small triangle is cut off the top corner. On my computer there is no such [divit] between events, so it’s not as easy to see event edges.

(I know I can click Ctrl-Shift-i to display Active Take Information, so a white-background text box is displayed at the beginning of each event. That text covers the [thumbnails/frame shots] in the timeline, so I don’t want it always on. Happily I can easily turn it off by pressing Ctrl-Shift-i again, but I’d rather not have to be toggling things on and off.)

(I know I can use the script “Startel Markers at Event Start Points” but if I have other markers, I can’t remove all these markers in one operation when I want a clearer workspace.)

Would it be possible to post a screen shot of what’s on both PC’s? I can’t imagine why the blue triangles don’t show up the corners of your events. They do for me on both XP Pro and Vista 64.

I will add a screen-shot of my friend’s screen Wednesday night. Here is a screen-shot of my screen:

I can already see that the blue corners are not there. What version of Vegas? I see them on my Vegas Pro 8.0c. Did you loose any functionality? or just the visual cue in the corners?

I have never seen anything other than what Jill displayed. You aren’t talking about the arrows when you expand the track are you?

    John,
We use Vegas Pro 8.0c. I have not lost any functionality. We had the same experience with 8.0b.

    Harold,
It’s interesting to know I’m not the only one. No, I’m not talking about the Fade-out/in or Event Edge [mover-things].

I believe she’s talking about the blue corners like this:

This image was taken in Vegas Pro 8.0c on Vista 64.

Nope don’t have that. It does look familiar though. Perhaps I saw them in V7.

In Preferences I unchecked “Enable Windows XP Theme support”, applied changes, closed Vegas, opened Vegas, and found: no change.

I also checked Preferences: Display, and found nothing there relates to this issue.

    I found a work-around:
On the track header (on the left), I right-click anywhere except on an icon, and select “Expand Track Layers”. This way, each change of event is displayed on an alternating layer within the track.

I’d prefer to have the way it’s supposed to be, but this is good too.

Weird. The edges’ corners are now showing again. No thanks to me – I didn’t do anything.

    John, Harold, and others:
Do you use the Media Manager?

My computer crashed today, and Windows did a NTFS FileSystem check.
When I started Vegas, I found events edges’ had the cut/angled corners they’re supposed to have. I just found the Media Manager is now not working. I don’t know what happened to the Media Manager, but it seems this reveals at least a strongly credible hypothesis:

When the Media Manager is on, event edges’ are not marked by corners.

(I should have realized that is a difference between my friend’s computer and mine – she never had the Media Manager.)
