You can print directly from the timeline. Any unaltered footage that’s already in the correct format will passthru to the tape and anything that has been modified will be rendered for you before printing to tape so a separate render step is not needed.

You could have done this in one step without the intermediate render. Just drop the 720p project into a 4 x 3 project as a “nested project” and pint to tape.

You didn’t say what version of Vegas you are using or how powerful a PC you have but both are big variables in the equation. You need a powerful computer to work with AVCHD. A QuadCore PC is almost a minimum requirement. Also Vegas Pro 9.0 works much smoother with AVCHD than 8.0 did.

Yes, and it’s part of Production Assistant as well because both have the Motion tool (MotoFoto) that uses the BackPaks.

It sounds like you are using Movie Studio 8.0 which only has 4 tracks. Unfortunately, you are limited to showing 4 tracks at once unless you upgrade to Sony Vegas Pro.

Once thing you can try is to render out 4 tracks and then bring that file back onto one track and add 3 more.

You don’t need to shoot progressive to render progressive. Perhaps this person did render as 24p in which case it would look fine on a PC or TV because it’s not interlaced. You can render to 24p and see if it gives you the look that you want.

I really don’t know. Send an email to our sales office and they can tell you. All of our DVD’s are NTSC and not PAL so make sure that you can play them (or play them on your PC)

Vegas has always been very flexible in this way. Just choose:

Options | Preferences | Display

and uncheck:

[ ] Use Vegas color scheme
[ ] Display timeline at bottom of main window

and that should do it.

Hajo, you are correct. Sorry for not being more specific. Most people just hit enter at this window and don’t go to the media tab and specify the attributes of the media. This is a critical step for Vegas to interpret your still image sequence correctly. Thanks for pointing that out.
